If you are surrendering your horse, please contact the director of Equine 808 Horse Rescue for further information. Horses that we accept may be for many different reasons. Some may be owner surrenders. These horses are turned over by owners who can no longer care for them. With the high rising economy, gas and feed costs going up, we understand that it may be very difficult to care for your horse.
Surrendering your horse can be a very difficult decision to make, and we respect that. We are happy to answer questions you may have to help you make an informed decision.
If we are able to accept your horse into our program the following information & documents must be provided prior to intake:
- Completed Surrender Application
- Surrender fees Hawaii—$500 / Colorado—$300
- Proof of Vaccinations/Health Certificate
- Medical Release Form
- Brand Certificate transferring ownership to Equine 808 Horse Rescue; if applicable
- Horse’s registration paperwork; if applicable
You have decided that you need to surrender your horse – what now? The first step in the surrender process is to complete and submit a surrender application.
